Ellie's Special Day With Mommy

About a month ago, we decided that it was time for Ellie to start sleeping in her OWN bed at night. She has pretty much been back in our bed for the last 2 1/2 years, and although I do LOVE having her there next to me to snuggle and cuddle with, bedtime was becoming a loooong drawn out process and I would like to clear the bed out for the new baby who will be here soon enough!

We made a deal that if she was to sleep in her own bed for 7 nights in a row and go to bed without mommy or daddy having to lie there next to her, she could earn a special day with mom. It took awhile, but she has finally earned it, and she worked hard to earn it too. Now, even if she wakes up in the night, she wants to go back to her and Jordyn's bedroom to finish the night off in her own bed.
We started our special day out with Breakfast at Starbucks where she ordered her own "iced mocha". Don't worry, it's really just a chocolate milk with ice and whip cream, but she hasn't figured that out yet! Then, we walked over to the nail salon by our house, where she was able to get her very own manicure and pedicure! They didn't do all the works, and basically just painted her nails up all nice and fancy. She thought it was the coolest thing ever and all the other ladies on the salon made a big deal about how lucky she was and how great it was that she sleeps in her own bed like a big girl now!
After her nails looked just right, we went to the Dollar Store where she got to pick out some princess mini notebooks to buy, and then we headed home for lunch. It was a fun day, for her and for ME! I really enjoyed having the whole morning for just the two of us to do "girl" stuff.
